Riot Fest organizers have decided to conclude activities earlier on Saturday due to storm forecasts threatening the Chicago area. At approximately 3:30 p.m., organizers stated: “In cooperation with our partners from the City of Chicago and out of abundance of caution for the safety of our fans, bands, and staff, Riot Fest will be ending early tonight due to inclement weather. For updated schedule and any further changes, please check Riot Fest socials and riotfest.org. Please be safe and watch for more updates.”
At this point, Sunday’s schedule plans to proceed without changes. Communication was challenging for attendees already present at the park as cell service was compromised.
The revised schedule condensed certain performances to around 20 minutes. This adjustment removed Afroman’s eagerly awaited performance and set the event to conclude by 7 p.m., with Tool taking the headline slot at 6 p.m. During his set, Bob Mould from Sugar humorously commented, “Who knows who’s up next!”
