In a covert move to ensure the safety of President Donald Trump, he was discreetly transferred from Air Force One to an alternative aircraft due to a threat from Iran. This maneuver, as reported, involved Trump publicly boarding Air Force One but later secretly switching planes.
The operation included a food truck and an additional military plane to prevent any assassination attempts. Steven Cheung, White House communications director, emphasized the need to address threats, stating, “there are many enemies of America who have their sights on him.”
The Covert Switch
The plane switch took place while Trump was departing the NATO summit. Initially, it appeared he was on the older Air Force One with the press and staff. Instead, using a catering truck, he was quietly moved to a smaller military plane. After landing in the United Kingdom, Trump returned to Air Force One and later used the newer plane, provided by Qatar, for his return to the U.S.
Trump later addressed the media, acknowledging threats from Iran and calling himself Iran’s “number one target.”

Visual evidence from Ankara International Airport showed a catering truck parked strategically near Air Force One, supporting the covert operation. The switch occurred shortly after the U.S. declared the resumption of strikes on Iran, dismissing any existing deal.
A U.S. Air Force representative reassured that Air Force One remains a secure and technologically advanced aircraft, adding that no risks were taken with security during the switch, although some mission capabilities were adjusted to support future needs.
