Senator Criticizes President Trump’s Relationship with Aide at Rally

42 minutes ago 0

During a rally held on Sunday, Senator Jon Ossoff launched a strong criticism of President Donald Trump’s relationship with his aide, Natalie Harp. The Democratic Senator accused Trump of prioritizing travel with Harp over fulfilling his presidential duties.

Ossoff’s comments came as he discussed the lengthy deployments of U.S. Navy sailors onboard aircraft carriers this year. He argued that while sailors aboard the USS Lincoln are fighting wars and depleting munitions and resources, the president is neglecting his responsibilities.

“While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings,” Ossoff stated.

Continuing his attack, Ossoff accused Trump of indulging in leisure activities like golfing and trading stocks, rather than undertaking his presidential role. He suggested Trump preferred to construct ballrooms and travel with Harp to a luxurious flying palace, allegedly a gift from the Emir of Qatar.

Natalie Harp, aged 35, was among three aides who remained with Trump during a recent plane swap, triggered by a perceived missile threat from Iran. This decision saw the president leave behind key figures, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and the White House press pool.

Reports have emerged from Harp’s estranged brother, Preston Harp, asserting the relationship between Harp and Trump is “very unhealthy.” In an interview with The New York Times, Preston claimed his sister’s devotion led her to leave admiring messages for Trump.

Newsweek has reached out to the White House for further comments, despite contacting them outside of standard business hours.

This story is still developing, with more updates expected soon.
