Sol Ruca Crowned Women’s Intercontinental Champion at Clash in Italy

4 weeks ago 0

Sol Ruca achieved significant success by becoming the women’s intercontinental champion during Clash in Italy on Sunday. She triumphed over Becky Lynch in what marked a rematch of their previous bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

During the previous encounter, Lynch had caused referee Jessica Carr to disqualify her by pushing Carr in front of Sol Ruca’s finishing move, the Sol Snatcher. Despite winning, Ruca didn’t feel validated in Lynch’s eyes, while Lynch was eager to move past the rising star.

SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis scheduled a rematch with the championship at stake. Ruca embraced the challenge and proved herself on the grand stage.

Lynch employed mind games, resorting to trash-talk, pushing Carr into ropes to destabilize Ruca, and even attempted a Sol Snatcher. However, these tactics failed to deter Ruca.

As the match closed, Ruca struck with an unexpected Sol Snatcher, effectively ending Lynch’s reign as the champion. This victory marked Ruca’s first major achievement since joining the main WWE roster.

Previously, she showcased her prowess by defeating Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event after John Cena included her in the card. Her performance on NXT hinted at her potential, now recognized on the bigger platform.
