A suspect was taken into custody on Thursday night following a fatal stabbing of a 48-year-old woman during a dispute at a residence in the Chicago Lawn area. Chicago police provided this information.
The incident occurred at around 10:10 p.m. when the victim was involved in an argument with a male individual. The disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, the suspect, who was known to the victim, produced a weapon and attacked her before leaving the scene. The woman sustained a chest wound and was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Law enforcement officials apprehended the suspect near the 3400 block of West 56th Place. Officers discovered a weapon inside the residence. Authorities suggest the stabbing is likely linked to a domestic dispute. Investigators are actively working on the case and charges are pending.
