Trump Unveils White House Ballroom Project Amid Legal Battles

4 weeks ago 0

President Donald Trump has provided an exclusive tour of the White House Ballroom project, showcasing its innovative design and functionality as a secure venue for formal events. According to Trump, the ballroom is a gift to America, funded by patriots, and it offers ample space to accommodate up to 2,000 guests, ensuring the safety of leaders for generations.

In a message on Truth Social, Trump highlighted the project’s importance and criticized U.S. District Judge Richard Leon for granting an injunction against the $400 million ballroom and rooftop drone base, calling it a threat to U.S. national security. Trump’s words emphasized the sophistication of the DronePort, claiming it will protect Washington, D.C., effectively.

Trump urged Judge Leon to dismiss a lawsuit filed by what he described as a ‘serial plaintiff,’ warning about potential consequences if the injunction causes vulnerabilities to the White House’s security. Recently, security threats like a shooting outside a checkpoint further underscore the need for enhanced measures.

Trump: “Judge Leon will be held responsible for any attack consequences unless this frivolous lawsuit is dismissed immediately!”

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has reiterated the call to vacate the injunction in a court filing, pointing to two recent attempted attacks against Trump to argue for the necessity of heightened security.

An appeals court recently allowed the continuation of construction until June, despite Leon’s previous ruling against Trump’s authority to build without congressional approval. The National Trust for Historic Preservation remains firm in its opposition to the project, concerned about preserving historic federal buildings.

The ballroom is planned to include a rooftop drone base and a six-story underground military complex featuring medical facilities. During discussions, Trump stated the roof is built for military use, with drone-proof capabilities that will protect Washington from aerial threats.

The proposed 90,000-square-foot ballroom aims to host large-scale events, addressing the inadequacy of current White House entertainment spaces. The project includes robust security features, such as titanium fencing, reinforced roofing, thick special glass, and underground facilities designed for safety.
