An intense tornado swept through the southern area of Appleton, Wisconsin, on Monday afternoon, leading to extensive damage. Although forecasters had predicted an enhanced risk of severe and stormy weather for the day, the chance of tornadoes was initially considered low.
The storm resulted in substantial destruction, including the roof of Miller Electric collapsing. If evaluated as causing EF3 damage by the National Weather Service, this tornado would represent the fourth of its kind in Wisconsin this year.
