Currently, firefighters in both France and Spain are working tirelessly to control these exceptionally large fires. So far, the fires have consumed hundreds of thousands of acres. Additionally, more than 300,000 residents have been displaced as a precautionary measure.
This emergency comes as the continent braces for another intense heat wave, marking a challenging summer for Europe.
