Michael Bouchard Secures GOP Nomination in Michigan’s 10th District

Bronze Star veteran Michael Bouchard has emerged victorious in the Republican primary for Michigan’s 10th Congressional District. His campaign received a boost with support from former President Donald Trump. Republicans are optimistic about maintaining their slim majority in the U.S. House of Representatives with Bouchard, who emphasizes correcting the country’s course.

Bouchard is a new face in politics. He aims to continue steering the country away from previous administrative directions. He highlights his military background, serving in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions and deploying to Iraq and the U.S. southern border. Bouchard’s experience was acknowledged with a Bronze Star for his involvement in the joint task force against ISIS.

His predecessor, Rep. John James, held the seat and defeated Carl Marlinga in the last two election cycles. James is not seeking reelection, choosing instead to run for governor. He sees this as a path to secure Michigan’s economic future.

Bouchard plans to prioritize American manufacturing, continue building the southern border wall, and enhance parental involvement in education. In a campaign video, he contrasts his past leadership under Trump with current border policies under President Biden. He argues these have led to increased human trafficking and drug smuggling.

Support from key Republican figures bolsters Bouchard’s campaign. Endorsements from House Speaker Mike Johnson, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and GOP Conference Chair Lisa McClain reinforce his candidacy. Trump’s endorsement on Truth Social praised Bouchard’s service and fighting spirit.

Having clinched the primary, Bouchard will advance to the general election on November 3.
