On Sunday, President Donald Trump expressed his demand for investigations regarding what he described as ‘paid protesters.’ His comments followed the spread of online footage that reportedly shows a woman participating in several demonstrations.
Trump echoed claims made by conservative journalist Emily Miller, who suggested that the same woman was spotted at two separate protests, both related to projects endorsed by Trump. Initially, she was seen at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and later at the proposed site for a triumphal arch. The current administration renovated the Reflecting Pool earlier this year. The planned triumphal arch, expected to reach 250 feet, would be located near Arlington Memorial Bridge, situated between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.
Despite the claims, neither Trump nor Miller provided proof that the woman was paid to attend these protests nor identified who might be financing her participation.
In one of his Truth Social posts, Trump expressed gratitude to Miller. He stated that there are ‘many such people all over’ who try to hinder or delay ‘Great Developments, Projects, and even Policies.’ He claimed that Miller had captured the woman ‘REDHANDED.’
This accusation mirrors previous assertions made by Trump, where he branded demonstrators opposing his administration’s policies as ‘paid protesters.’ This includes allegations made during the June 2025 protests in Los Angeles, in which he called some demonstrators ‘paid insurrectionists’ and ‘paid troublemakers.’ Similar accusations have surfaced regarding protests against the administration’s immigration enforcement policies, suggesting that some involved are professional or paid agitators.
