On Wednesday, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley accepted the nomination at a news conference in Milwaukee. Francesca Hong, identified as a democratic socialist, had been leading by 22 percentage points according to a prominent state poll.
Initially, Crowley exited the primary race but later re-entered with the endorsement of the incumbent governor. His victory signals a preference for a more moderate candidate among voters.
