Representative Randy Fine, a Republican from Florida, emerged victorious in the Republican primary for Florida’s 6th Congressional District. Fine defeated several opponents in a campaign characterized by intense personal attacks against him.
The Cook Political Report has rated this district as solidly Republican. In the primary, Fine triumphed over businessman Manuel P. Asensio, challenger Aaron Baker, retired U.S. Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Charles Gambaro, and social media influencer Dan Bilzerian. Bilzerian had targeted Fine with antisemitic remarks during the campaign.
Fine entered the race with notable advantages, including considerable fundraising support and an endorsement from former President Donald Trump. In October 2025, Trump endorsed Fine, referring to him as a “MAGA Warrior.”
Fine first took office after winning a special election in 2025 following Mike Waltz’s resignation. Since then, he has become known as a vocal advocate for Israel and for combating antisemitism while safeguarding Jewish communities. Before joining Congress, Fine was Florida’s only Jewish Republican legislator, earning the nickname “Hebrew Hammer” for his work in these areas.
The campaign featured social media influencer Dan Bilzerian, known for his playboy persona. Bilzerian built his brand around displaying a glamorous lifestyle and founding Ignite International Brands, offering products like disposable vapes, vodka, and tequila.
Bilzerian has faced criticism for antisemitic statements and conspiracy theories. He claimed Jews knew about the September 11 attacks, were responsible for JFK’s assassination, controlled the media, and questioned Holocaust casualty numbers.
The antisemitism and extensive hatred aimed at Jewish communities are unacceptable in our political landscape and the broader American society.
House Speaker Mike Johnson condemned Bilzerian’s AI-generated campaign ad against Fine. Johnson stated that all political leaders should denounce such acts. He emphasized the importance of opposing antisemitism wherever it surfaces.
Fine has had an extensive political career in Florida. He spent eight years in the state’s House and Senate, chairing five committees. He focused on issues like school choice, immigration enforcement, and legislation addressing harmful ideologies in education.
Looking ahead, Fine is positioned for the November general election in this securely Republican district.
