The annual tribute to television, traditionally broadcast on TV, will move to a streaming platform next year. According to the Television Academy, the Emmy Awards will stream on Amazon Prime. This transition is part of a new six-year deal that hands Amazon the global broadcasting rights for the ceremony.
Under this agreement, the Emmy Awards will not require a subscription to view. The Television Academy confirmed that the event will be accessible in front of the streamer’s paywall, allowing all interested viewers to watch without incurring any charges.
