Blake Monroe’s Emotional WWE SmackDown Debut

Blake Monroe made a significant entrance into the wrestling world with her in-ring debut on ‘Friday Night SmackDown.’ Fans were eager to see her bring the excitement she showcased while in NXT to this new stage. In NXT, her entrance was memorable. Monroe would gaze into a vanity mirror before turning and heading into the ring. Many hoped she would bring this signature entrance to SmackDown, but it was not to be.

Monroe appeared wearing a sheer robe adorned with showgirl-style feathers, which left fans curious. Later, Monroe shared the meaning behind her entrance through an Instagram post.

‘My journey started 9 years ago. I remember the night before my first class – I was so nervous. I had done theatre for years and never felt anything close to this level of fear,’ she wrote. Monroe recalled feeling hesitant before entering the school gym because her grandmother, who had recently passed, had always encouraged her. Spotting a feather on her windshield inspired her to pursue her dreams.

Monroe reflects, ‘A few months earlier, after years of battling illness, my grandmother passed away. She was the coolest, toughest woman I had ever met. They say feathers are a message from someone in heaven.’

With renewed determination, Monroe declared, ‘Now here we are, my SmackDown debut. I know you waited 5 months… I waited 9 years, and pretty much my whole life for this moment! Unfortunately, my grandad passed away not long before my debut.’

Monroe detailed finding another feather while preparing for her TV appearance, strengthening her belief that her grandparents were watching over her. Her feathered entrance symbolized their presence on a momentous night.

Blake Monroe’s debut match against Giulia was a success. Monroe countered a move by Giulia, which led to Giulia being knocked out, allowing Monroe to pin her opponent and win her debut match.

Monroe joins WWE’s roster after making her NXT debut in June 2025 and achieving recognition as an NXT women’s North American champion.
