Authorities are looking into the fatal skydiving incident at West Plains Skydiving involving two jumpers during a scheduled group event,
the ACSO mentioned in a Facebook post.
On the scene, deputies discovered the midair collision had led to the death of one skydiver, while the second participant sustained injuries requiring further medical treatment. The deceased was identified as Randy Hubbs from Kennewick, Washington. Nicole Klein from Colville was identified as the second skydiver involved.
According to witness reports, staff members observed Hubbs from around 500 feet above ground level following the collision. Preliminary investigations suggested that Hubbs became unresponsive after the collision with Klein, and his arms and head appeared to limp.
Adams County Dispatch later received an emergency report involving two injured skydivers at the 2000 block of E. Schoessler Road. Deputies conducted an investigation on the scene, where Hubbs was eventually released to the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
West Plains Skydiving informed local media that both jumpers were experienced and were using equipment they personally owned. Hubbs had completed more than 800 skydives, while Klein had completed approximately 900.
The ACSO extended their deepest condolences to those affected by the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
