Rod Stewart, aged 81, canceled two scheduled performances in Las Vegas just hours before showtime. He was set to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30. However, both events were canceled before the venue opened.
A representative explained that Stewart’s doctor advised him to cancel due to health reasons. Stewart is expected to return on June 2. The rock legend personally apologized to fans through a statement, mentioning he is on vocal rest from a sinus infection. He expressed eagerness to return for future performances.
“My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.”
Fans expressed frustration online. One person mentioned receiving the cancellation notice less than two hours before the 7:30 p.m. start. Another commented on the potential for the venue’s bad luck and even suggested retirement. Despite opinions, Stewart shows determination to continue performing.
In 2024, Stewart announced a farewell tour but clarified he plans to stop large world tours, not performing entirely. He expressed his love for music and performing.
“This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do, and I do what I love.”
Stewart maintains fitness, stating he still does 100-meter sprints. He humorously shared his time of 18 seconds at his age, hoping to improve.
Previously, Stewart shared his fitness routine, highlighting a gym, a private track, and an indoor pool. He credits his lifelong trainer and past soccer experience for his continued fitness.
