Alaskans are finalizing their votes for a new governor, as the term for Governor Mike Dunleavy, a Republican, comes to an end. A broad array of candidates seeks to take his place.
Noteworthy candidates include former state Senate Minority Leader Tom Begich, a Democrat, and Republican business owner Bernadette Wilson. These two have been leading in recent polls.
Other contenders are Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, a former state legislator, and former Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson, a Republican. In this election, the top four candidates, irrespective of their party ties, will move on to the general election.
The voting process will conclude when polls close at 12 a.m. EDT on Wednesday. Decision Desk HQ will provide live updates on the results.
