British counterterrorism police have released on bail a 22-year-old man who was arrested earlier in London on suspicion of a terror offense. He is the seventh man involved in an investigation related to a security incident that authorities have associated with Iran. The incident occurred at RAF Fairford, which has been used by American bombers for operations against Iran during the ongoing conflict.

The British national was arrested in Westminster, central London, and suspected of preparing terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. Upon release, he remains under strict bail conditions, according to police.

All seven individuals arrested are currently on police bail while specialized teams explore all potential leads. Police are seeking information from the public that may aid the investigation.

The decision to bail the first six suspects previously faced criticism from President Trump. On September 28, he illustrated that the U.S. and British authorities were closely collaborating on the matter and expressed doubt about Iran’s involvement.

Heightened security measures have been implemented, including installing concrete blocks near the main gate of RAF Fairford. An incident near the base resulted in evacuations of residents from their homes, located approximately 100 miles west of London. On September 27, armed police and bomb-disposal experts acted on the scene. Police later reported discovering gasoline in three vans connected to the initial five suspects, though no explosives were found.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham mentioned strong indications suggesting Iran’s involvement but did not specify the suspected plot details. While Iran denied any participation, it stated bases used to attack its territory are legitimate targets.

U.S. B-52 and B-1 bombers were relocated from Fairford on Sunday, but the connection between this move and the arrests remains uncertain. President Trump emphasized the removal of threats by relocating the bombers and hinted that those behind the threat might be linked to Iran, declining to share further specifics.
