Bengals’ Jordan Battle Comments on Opponent’s Tell

39 minutes ago 0

Jordan Battle, a key player for the Cincinnati Bengals, is widely acknowledged for his football skills. However, his recent comments may have exposed a strategic insight ahead of the team’s clash with the Miami Dolphins.

Battle revealed an observation about Miami Dolphins’ quarterback Malik Willis. He mentioned that Willis demonstrates a specific pattern in his throwing motion, which could be used to the Bengals’ advantage. Battle explained, “He has a little slight little tap before every throw, so I feel like we could use that as a key to break on the ball.”

This unexpected revelation might not be well-received by the Bengals’ coaching staff, although Dolphins’ head coach Jeff Hafley acknowledged it as relatively common. Hafley stated that many quarterbacks display similar timing and rhythm cues. However, he appreciated the insight shared during a press conference on Friday. “There’s a lot of them that do that, but any opponent that wants to share our tendencies with us, we’ll take any time,” he noted.

Fans and social media users criticized Battle for disclosing this information publicly. Comments highlighted concerns about revealing confidential team strategies to the media.

Battle has been with the Bengals for four seasons, having been drafted in 2023. He boasts consistent performances, currently recording 25 tackles, two passes defensed, and one interception for this season. Throughout his career, he has not missed a game and has accumulated seven interceptions.

The Bengals, coming off two consecutive losses, aim to reverse their fortunes in the upcoming game against the Dolphins. Identifying Willis’ tell might offer the leverage they need. The game is set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, hosted by Miami.
