Bill Maher Criticizes Dr. Fauci Over Handling of COVID-19

Maher stated, “He was caught in actual lies. The big issue to me is the origin of this, which is very important. How did it start?”

Maher debated the merits of “gain-of-function” research, questioning the safety of enhancing harmful bacteria for study. He argued that the social stigma around the lab leak theory skewed public debate, suggesting it was dismissed due to racial implications rather than scientific evidence.

Maher explained, “We could have had that debate in a rational way. We didn’t want to do that. Because why? Because we make everything about race.”
