Week 3 of Chicagoland high school football brought several notable performances. Here’s a breakdown of how the teams fared:
Lincoln-Way East vs. Homewood-Flossmoor
Lincoln-Way East overpowered Homewood-Flossmoor with a 38-7 victory. Junior linebacker Ryan Manzke was a standout, intercepting a pass and returning it for a touchdown. Manzke also contributed six tackles, helping the Griffins secure a near-shutout on the road.
Geneva vs. St. Charles North
Geneva emerged victorious against St. Charles North with a 49-17 win. Nelson Wendell, a senior running back/linebacker recovering from an injury, rushed for 95 yards and scored two touchdowns. His performance inspired his teammates and set the tone for their DuKane Conference game.
Providence vs. Joliet Catholic

Wheaton North vs. Lake Park
Wheaton North celebrated a 24-15 win over Lake Park. Mac Murray carried the ball 34 times, gaining 210 yards and scoring three touchdowns. His final touchdown secured the DuKane Conference win for the unbeaten Falcons.
Crown Point vs. Merrillville
Crown Point claimed a 23-14 victory against Merrillville in the Duneland Athletic Conference showdown. Senior cornerback Jaden Saddler recovered a muffed punt and made a crucial interception, contributing to the team’s defensive effort.
