Chris Hemsworth’s Costa Rica Trip Turns Hair-Raising During Lightning Storm

2 weeks ago 0

Chris Hemsworth’s recent vacation took a startling twist when he and his family encountered a lightning storm while flying on a small plane. The 42-year-old actor, known for his role as Thor, documented this unexpected adventure in a YouTube vlog during their Costa Rican getaway with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their three children. The video shows lightning surrounding the aircraft and turbulence causing visible anxiety for Hemsworth, who mouthed, “What the f—?” The caption described it as a “crazy plane ride.”

Chris Hemsworth shared terrifying footage from a “life-threatening” flight in Costa Rica.

Despite the frightening experience, the plane landed safely, allowing the Hemsworth family to enjoy the rest of their action-packed holiday. Activities included surfing, ATV excursions, cliff jumping, fishing, and hiking through waterfalls. In one playful moment, Pataky shoved Hemsworth into a waterfall.

This daring vacation follows Hemsworth’s public reflection on his work-life balance after a health revelation during the filming of National Geographic’s “Limitless.” The actor took genetic tests and learned he has two copies of the APOE4 gene, heightening his risk of Alzheimer’s disease. This personal news, revealed in 2022, briefly led Hemsworth to step away from acting, sparking rumors of retirement or even illness.

Hemsworth addressed these rumors in a 2024 Vanity Fair interview, expressing frustration that people misconstrued his vulnerability. He assured fans that having the APOE4 gene is not a definite diagnosis. He also humorously recalled a fan comment hoping Chris would forget his retirement and return to acting.

Throughout their marriage since 2010, Hemsworth and Pataky have often showcased their adventurous lifestyle, both at home in Australia and during global travels. They share three children: daughter India and twin sons Sasha and Tristan.
