Far-Left Influencer Hasan Piker Discusses American Marxist Financier Neville Roy Singham

1 month ago 0

Far-left political influencer Hasan Piker has highlighted American Marxist tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham as a primary funder for a network of pro-communist U.S. nonprofits involved in political advocacy. This marks the first time someone within the far-left network acknowledges that Singham’s organizations operate with a politically explicit agenda.

The significance of Piker’s comments lies in the ongoing concern of congressional investigators and watchdog groups. They argue that nonprofits related to Singham act as overt political operations while maintaining tax-exempt status, potentially violating nonprofit tax laws. These laws strictly limit political activities by charities.

As reported by Fox News Digital, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued subpoenas to Piker and Susan Medea Benjamin, co-founder of the far-left group CodePink. They possibly violated sanctions by engaging with the Communist Party of Cuba during a trip to the island in March for a communist convergence.

Piker and Benjamin have not commented on the subpoenas, but they have defended their trip as a “humanitarian” mission to Cuba.

In a livestream on Monday titled “FEDS ARE AFTER ME,” Piker surprised listeners familiar with far-left networks. He stated his belief that federal investigators are targeting Singham and the groups he supports, including CodePink and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), for their political work.

Organizations funded by Singham have orchestrated most anti-U.S. protests over the past decade. Piker noted, “I think that ultimately the target is probably Singham and his operation from PSL to ANSWER Coalition to CodePink — like anything that he has ever financed.”

A Fox News Digital investigation from March documented Singham’s $278 million funneling starting in 2017 into a network of nonprofits, which financially supported numerous organizations promoting pro-China messaging aligned with the Chinese Communist Party.

Singham praised Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Communist Party’s vision for a “new world order” at a Shanghai conference in November 2025, marking his involvement.

Piker defended Singham, claiming the federal government aims to suppress activism financed by Singham, a wealthy donor. “It’s like totally ridiculous to try and stop the political advocacy of an American citizen,” Piker said.

Singham, an American citizen and a centimillionaire, sold his tech company Thoughtworks for $785 million in 2017. He then established new networks of corporations and nonprofits in the U.S., operating from Shanghai.

Piker described Singham as a “funding vehicle” for many political movements. The Singham network mobilizes teams to protest U.S. actions, like demonstrations supporting Iran, with protesters like CodePink’s Olivia DiNucci painting hands red to condemn U.S. action.

Piker’s depiction of Singham financing political movements may intensify investigations by multiple congressional committees. Committees explore Singham’s funding network and its compliance with nonprofit laws.

Various committees — including Senate Judiciary, House Judiciary, House Oversight, and House Ways and Means — examine Singham’s funding network, particularly concerning foreign influence, nonprofit compliance, and political activism.

Hasan Piker, nephew of Turkish-American socialist operative Cenk Uygur, has become an influential left-wing commentator. He promotes Marxism despite critics labeling him a “champagne socialist” for his expensive lifestyle.

Piker has monetized lengthy livestreams on Twitch, popular with young gamers. He engages in unscripted discussions, often criticizing the U.S. and repeating U.S. adversaries’ talking points.

The subpoenas against Piker and Benjamin have sparked reactions in activist circles. Far-left figures support Piker, while Democratic influencers ridicule him.

Piker has devoted time to condemning the investigation as politically motivated, casting himself as a victim.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control enforces U.S. sanctions laws. “OFAC’ed” indicates potential sanctions or foreign transaction violations in policy circles.
