An 18-year-old named Kingston Lammar Bradley was charged with malice murder in Georgia. According to authorities, dismembered remains were allegedly discovered in trash bags in the trunk of Bradley’s car.
The incident unfolded when witnesses saw Bradley carrying a container at his apartment complex. Upon noticing he had been seen, Bradley dropped the container and retreated to his apartment, stated Smyrna Police Lt. Meredith Holt during a Friday news conference.
Witnesses alerted police after discovering human remains within the container. Initially, police visited Bradley’s residence when a missing woman’s family reported her car and phone were located there, but no search warrant was executed at that time.
“This is a shocking crime, I don’t know how else to describe it,” said Lt. Holt.
Following the witnesses’ discovery of human remains, police returned with a search warrant and found a garbage bag in Bradley’s car that clearly showed the outline of a body part, as per a news release from the police department.
The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the presence of human remains in the bags. Smyrna Police Chief Keith Zgonc identified the victim as Shanteria “KT” Mosley, who was reported missing by her family.
Mosley had been a DoorDash worker, although she was not on duty the day she disappeared. DoorDash reported her last account activity was on Tuesday.
Police are currently unaware of any connection Bradley had to Mosley. Lt. Holt shared her shock at the crime’s brutality, drawing on her extensive 25-year experience in law enforcement.
Smyrna Police continue their search for any additional human remains. Bradley faces further charges for concealing the death of a person.
Past domestic disputes had prompted multiple police visits to Bradley’s apartment, though there had been no indication of homicidal tendencies.
During his appearance in Cobb County Magistrate Court, Bradley was denied bond. His next court hearing is slated for October.
