Historic House Vote on Permanent Daylight Saving Time

3 weeks ago 0

The United States House of Representatives has passed a significant bill aimed at making daylight saving time permanent. This marked the first time the House has succeeded in moving forward with such legislation.

The Sunshine Protection Act of 2025 received broad bipartisan support, highlighted by the voting result of 308-117. The bill now proceeds to the Senate for further deliberation.

President Trump has expressed his intention to sign the bill into law, should it make its way to his office.

This decision could lead to lasting changes in how Americans experience time throughout the year, avoiding the biannual clock adjustments that have been customary until now.
