New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson maintains composure following a thrilling Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The Knicks achieved the largest comeback in Finals history, fueling their series against the San Antonio Spurs. Although New York leads the series 3-1, Brunson insists the team approaches it as though it’s tied 0-0.

As a team, you have to hold each other accountable. Whatever’s being said, positive or negative, you can’t really think about or worry about too much,

he stated to NBC News, emphasizing the importance of focus as the championship nears.

Brunson acknowledges fans expect a victory but stresses the importance of staying focused. The fans are going to be the fans, but for us, we got to do our jobs, he said.

The Game 4 win was intense. New York trailed by 29 before winning 107-106, thanks to Brunson’s stellar performance. He scored 36 points, demonstrating remarkable skills in the fourth quarter.

Reflecting on the team’s ability to come back, Brunson remarked, First of all, it’s a position that we really don’t want to be in, but we just keep fighting, and expressed confidence in their habits and resilience.

This victory underscored their ability to overcome adversity—improving their postseason record to 2-0 when trailing by 20 or more points in the fourth quarter. Brunson elaborated on the importance of mentality and perseverance: It’s all about the habits that we create and we do in situations, but it starts with just the mentality of it, just giving it all, knowing that you can be down 29 and claw all the way back.

Despite not being at his peak throughout the Finals, with averages of 29.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 39.6% against a tough Spurs defense, his Game 4 performance kept the Knicks on track for their first championship in over 50 years.

Brunson’s focus remains on the task at hand, resisting the urge to look too far ahead. Regarding the fans and their support, he expressed deep appreciation, noting, Obviously I love our fans, and they mean the world to me and to this organization. But he remains determined to concentrate on his responsibilities, promising to delve deeper into appreciation only once the mission is complete.
