Laura Ingraham has expressed strong criticism toward the Biden administration’s handling of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies. She highlighted an instance involving a fatal ICE shooting in Maine and criticized the decision to pause vehicular stops. This decision was later reversed by former President Trump. Ingraham accused prominent Democrats, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Gavin Newsom, of encouraging illegal aliens to evade arrest, which she argued increases risks for ICE agents and American citizens.
Adding to the controversy, Hayley Williams, the lead singer of Paramore, came under fire from the Department of Homeland Security after making anti-ICE remarks during a concert. She declared opposition to ICE and expressed support for Palestine, prompting a reaction from the agency. The DHS defended federal immigration officers, emphasizing their role in ensuring safety and urging Williams to appreciate their service.
A DHS spokesperson stated, “America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe. We suggest Ms. Williams to thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice.” Williams incorporated these political views in her performances throughout her tour dates in 2026.
Hayley Williams has previously used her platform to criticize ICE and former President Donald Trump. At the iHeartRadio Music Festival in 2024, she warned against Trump’s presidential campaign, urging people to vote against him. “Project 2025 is Donald Trump’s playbook for controlling and punishing women, poor people, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community,” she stated. “It is time for all Americans to band together and to finally defeat the Trump agenda. And the only way to do that is by confronting him at the polls,” Williams added.
The Department of Homeland Security reported a significant rise in assaults against ICE personnel, noting a 1,649% increase from January 2025 to September 2026 compared to the same period in previous years. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin remarked on these dangers, stating, “The brave men and women of ICE, who are simply enforcing the laws mandated by Congress and protecting the American people, are under attack every single day.” He attributed the rise in assaults to the Trump administration’s enforcement agenda.
