Michelle Obama Faces Criticism After ‘Good Morning America’ Interview

2 weeks ago 0

Michelle Obama, the former first lady, received criticism from conservatives following an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” During the segment, she participated alongside her husband, former President Barack Obama, at the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. The co-anchor, Robin Roberts, asked them to describe their next life chapter in a single word.

Barack Obama responded with “fun.” Meanwhile, Michelle Obama chose the word “me,” prompting a positive reaction from Roberts, who commented, “That’s what you call drop the mic.” Barack Obama playfully noted that Roberts seemed to be grading Michelle’s answers more favorably.

The clip inspired a range of reactions on social media, particularly from conservative voices. Some labeled Michelle Obama’s remark as self-centered.

Stephen Miller, a contributing editor at Spectator, shared his thoughts on the platform X. “Man, she really hates him,” Miller remarked. Danny De Urbina, a commentator and TV personality, also criticized Michelle’s response as self-focused. He suggested that focusing on oneself instead of the world reflects a lack of intelligence.

In the broader context of the interview, they discussed the Obama Presidential Center. This center spans 19.3 acres on Chicago’s South Side, including a museum and public spaces. Barack Obama highlighted their journey, stating, “A little girl born on the South Side of Chicago and some mixed kid born in Hawaii could end up part of building the greatest country on Earth.”

The center’s opening ceremony is planned for June 18, with the museum opening to the public the following day.
