The anecdote, described as legendary, occurred during the filming of ‘A Perfect World.’ Scott explained how Costner, amid his rise to fame, refused to leave his trailer. Clint’s response was straightforward. He instructed the crew to send Costner home, even though he was slated to be in the scene that day. ‘Well send him home then,’ Clint had said.

This decisive action led to Costner being informed he would not be needed for the scene. By the following day, Costner was back on set, ready to work. Scott commented on how this demonstrated his father’s no-nonsense approach, which commanded respect.

Scott also discussed his upbringing around the film industry and how witnessing behaviors on movie sets influenced his work ethic. He recounted seeing shocking behavior in the business and learning from his father’s example of maintaining professionalism and protecting his children from the industry’s pitfalls.
