Kennedy Center Trustees Challenge Federal Judge’s Order on Trump Name Removal

3 weeks ago 0

The trustees of the Kennedy Center have opted to contest a federal judge’s mandate requiring the removal of Donald Trump’s name from the exterior of the performing arts center. The board made this decision during a Thursday meeting.

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper had directed that the name be taken down by Friday, following his ruling that the renaming was against the law. In response, the board members voted to pursue a last-minute stay as they plan to appeal the decision.

This information comes from a meeting attendee and another individual who was briefed by someone present. Both sources requested anonymity due to concerns about possible retaliatory actions.
