Company Offers to Restore White House Lawn, Raises Ethics Concerns

1 week ago 0

Ohio-based ScottsMiracle-Gro announced plans to provide both financial and product support. The company aims to restore the damaged grass on the South Lawn of the White House. This follows an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event held on the grounds earlier this month.

The restoration offer comes from a private firm operated by a known supporter of President Donald Trump. This has prompted scrutiny from a government watchdog. The organization suggested the arrangement could pose ethical issues due to the company’s ties to the president.

An event crew began dismantling the UFC fighting venue on June 19, as captured in a photograph by Aaron Schwartz of Reuters.
