The earthquakes struck Venezuela at approximately 6 p.m. ET. The first tremor registered a magnitude of 7.2, positioned near San Felipe, roughly 100 miles west of Caracas. The U.S. Geological Survey reported this. A second, more intense quake measuring 7.5 occurred merely 39 seconds later, with an epicenter close to Yumare.
