Russian Strikes Result in Fatalities Northeast of Kyiv

1 week ago 0

Three individuals, including a child, died in Russian attacks on a district northeast of Kyiv, according to a regional military official on Saturday. The Ukrainian capital has faced increased strikes recently, often involving difficult-to-intercept ballistic missiles fired quickly.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of the regional military administration, reported on Telegram that three people, including a child, lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries in strikes on Brovary district. Debris from these attacks triggered multiple fires on the outskirts of Kyiv, damaging homes and vehicles, and igniting a blaze in a non-residential structure.

Ukraine’s state emergency service released images showing a building engulfed in flames, reporting that the attack in the village of Pukhivka destroyed a two-story house, two cars, and caused a fire in a warehouse.

An AFP journalist in Kyiv documented a series of explosions while Ukraine’s air force issued a warning about potential ballistic missile use from the north. Kyiv’s military administration confirmed that overnight attacks wounded four people, advising residents to seek shelter amid air raid alerts due to ballistic missile threats.
