Wyoming Voters Head to Polls for Governor Primaries

54 minutes ago 0

Wyoming voters are casting their ballots on Tuesday to choose Republican and Democratic candidates for governor. This open seat arises as incumbent Governor Mark Gordon is ineligible for another term.

In the Republican primary, candidates include Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder. She runs with the endorsement of former President Trump, a sought-after but unpredictable support. Retired U.S. Marine Colonel Brent Bien also enters the race, having previously finished second to Gordon in the 2022 GOP primary. This time, he participates without facing an incumbent and has secured the endorsement of the state GOP.

Other participants in the Republican primary are State Senator Eric Barlow and Curt Blake, a rodeo-production professional.

On the Democratic side, Ken Casner is the lone candidate. Having been the Democratic candidate in both the 2018 and 2022 governor’s races, he now stands as the presumptive nominee.

Polling stations will close at 9 p.m. EDT.
