Death of Kenan ‘Ken’ Urker, Partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Kenan ‘Ken’ Urker, the partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, was found dead in his Louisiana home on Thursday. This discovery was made after loved ones requested a welfare check.

Anita Blanchard, Gypsy Rose’s half-brother’s wife, reported that she and her husband noticed Urker unconscious through a window. Accompanied by another man, they entered Urker’s home and found him unresponsive, indicating he had been deceased for some time.

Investigators found syringes, a spoon with brown powder in the bathroom, and a handgun with additional paraphernalia on a nightstand. Urker had been at church with Anita Blanchard and her husband the night before, where he expressed feelings of depression.

Urker had amassed over 36,000 followers on TikTok. On the evening before his death, he reportedly streamed a live video without speaking while driving.

After not attending work the next day, Anita Blanchard and Urker’s employer checked on him, leading them to alert authorities. The sheriff’s office mentioned the absence of foul play in their investigation.

Thursday marked Urker’s 34th birthday. Any significant updates will prompt a new statement, according to the sheriff’s office.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, known for her involvement in her mother’s 2015 murder, was released on parole in December 2023 after serving most of her sentence. The murder was dramatized in the Hulu series ‘The Act.’

Blanchard and Urker got engaged in 2018 but separated before reuniting. They welcomed their daughter, Aurora, in December 2024.

In a statement, Blanchard suggested a potential drug overdose. ‘He was not in a good state of mind,’ she said. She shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, highlighting the impact of cyberbullying on Urker.

‘He faced relentless online harassment,’ Blanchard noted, urging readers to remember the humanity behind each social media interaction.
