Spencer Pratt, known for his role on the reality show “The Hills,” is making waves as he runs for mayor of Los Angeles. His campaign has attracted significant attention, including criticism from some notable figures.
Recently, “Hacks” star Hannah Einbinder criticized Pratt during an event. She expressed concern over the wealth in Los Angeles and suggested many pretend to align with leftist values but prioritize financial interests, leading them to support Pratt. She reminded people of Pratt’s endorsement by Donald Trump and emphasized the importance of resisting such politics.
There’s a lot of wealth in this city and I think that there are a lot of people who masquerade as Democrats or people on the left, but really, money is their key issue and that’s what leads them to vote for people like Spencer Pratt — who is endorsed by Donald Trump, and I will remind everybody of that.
Einbinder acknowledged the lack of “perfect candidates” in the mayoral race and expressed her endorsement for Nithya Raman, despite being “underwhelmed.” Pratt responded to Einbinder’s comments on social media. He reposted a video of her remarks, criticizing her for being out of touch with the realities faced by Angelenos. He argued she is part of an elite minority, shielded from the city’s difficulties.
Pratt wrote, “She says from a literal red carpet, surrounded by armed security, completely insulated from the horrors on our streets that Angelenos and their kids have to suffer through every day.” He added, “I’m glad she doesn’t have to suffer the consequences of Karen and Nithya’s failures, but she’s in an elite minority and the rest of us want change.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Einbinder for further comments on her statements. Pratt, undeterred by criticisms, continues to address them head-on. He has previously responded to comments, such as those from actress Lisa Rinna, who argued against a reality star becoming the next mayor. Pratt’s retort highlighted his reality show background compared to Karen Bass’s controversial past activities, including her ties to Cuba.
Pratt posted a video explaining, “Hey Lisa, if you’re against me because I was on a TV show in my 20s, wait til you learn what Karen Bass was doing in her 20s…” He accused Bass of involvement in activities threatening America.
Chelsea Handler also criticized Pratt’s candidacy, questioning his experience. Pratt responded by sharing a video highlighting Handler’s alleged associations with controversial figures.
In the latest poll by the L.A. Times, the race appears close, with Mayor Karen Bass holding 26% of voter support, Raman with 25%, and Pratt at 22%. The competition among the candidates remains intense as the election approaches. Emily Trainham from Fox News Digital provided updates on this ongoing story.
