A fatal accident occurred early Sunday when a vehicle crashed into a brick structure in Mundelein. The Lake County Coroner’s Office reported the incident.
The victim was identified as Lukas Beelow, a 31-year-old resident of Mundelein. According to the coroner’s office, an autopsy revealed that Beelow’s death was caused by blunt force trauma.
Police received a call at approximately 2:08 a.m. regarding a loud noise near the intersection of Chevy Chase Road and Hawley Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Beelow’s SUV had collided with a brick structure. Authorities confirmed that Beelow was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mundelein Police Department, along with the Major Crash Assistance Team, is conducting an ongoing investigation into the collision.
