Phil Mickelson No Longer Welcomed at Southern California Golf Club

3 weeks ago 0

Golf Digest reported that renowned golfer Phil Mickelson has been asked to leave The Farms Golf Club in Southern California. The club’s decision follows an allegation of inappropriate behavior involving a female staff member.

Allegations and Club Response

According to multiple sources cited by Golf Digest, Mickelson allegedly engaged in “nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact” with the employee. The incident reportedly occurred in the spring at the clubhouse. After the employee rejected his advances, she reported the matter to her supervisors. Mickelson was then confronted and asked to leave the premises.

The Farms Golf Club, located in Rancho Santa Fe near San Diego, confirmed to NBC News that “this individual is no longer a member.” In their statement, they mentioned conducting a thorough investigation and providing support to the staff member involved.

Mickelson’s Reaction and Current Focus

Phil Mickelson, 55, did not provide a comment through his representative. However, attorney Tom Clare, representing Mickelson, stated that the claims are “squarely contradicted by objective, video evidence.” Clare noted that there is significant misinformation being circulated.

Mickelson’s spokesperson mentioned that any misunderstandings have been resolved. Currently, Mickelson is focusing on a private family health matter. His future return to professional golf remains uncertain.

Background and Recent Decisions

In April, Mickelson announced a break from professional golf to address a family health issue. Known for his impressive golfing career, he is a six-time major champion. Mickelson’s career also includes some controversial moments, including his involvement with the Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf series.

As this situation unfolds, Mickelson’s professional and personal endeavors will likely continue to attract attention.
