Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing to return to the United Kingdom along with their two children later this month, six years after stepping away from royal responsibilities and relocating to California. Multiple reports indicate this move.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to settle in a private residence outside London. This information was shared by the BBC, referencing earlier reports from The Telegraph and The Sun.

Their children, Prince Archie, aged 7, and Princess Lilibet, aged 5, are set to start attending a British school in September, as reported by the BBC.

King Charles III was informed of their decision on Sunday and reportedly looks forward to spending more time with the Sussex family in private. Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, have been notified as well.

Their royal status will not change with this move. Reports suggest they have no intention of resuming their roles as working royals and aim to remain private individuals.

Fox News Digital sought comments from Buckingham Palace and Archewell, which manages the offices of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, the couple has not visited the U.K. together.

Harry and Meghan departed from royal duties in 2020 and eventually settled in Montecito, California. Their relations with the royal family have been strained following public disclosures during interviews, their Netflix series, and Harry’s memoir, “Spare.”

Harry has conveyed a desire to mend fences with his family, yet security concerns persist as a critical issue.

The Duke of Sussex lost a legal battle over police protection levels available for him and his family in the U.K. Safety concerns have previously prevented Harry from bringing Meghan and their children to Britain.

Despite the anticipated return, royal experts informed Fox News Digital that reconciliations might not lead to a resumption of royal duties.

“There’s always room for Harry to support his family privately as a son and brother,” stated Kinsey Schofield, host of YouTube’s “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered,” in remarks to Fox News Digital. “This is different from supporting the monarchy publicly as an active royal. The monarchy has adjusted to a smaller working team.”
