Country artist Rodney Atkins shared an important lesson from his upbringing. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Atkins emphasized the significance of staying true to oneself. He hopes the younger generation will return to the core values he frequently sings about.
Atkins recently released his album “True South,” which serves as a reminder of these values. “I’m singing about friends, family, and the good Lord,” Atkins stated, stressing the importance of maintaining these priorities without getting caught up in trends and artificial distractions.
“True South is about friends, family, and the good Lord,”Atkins explained.“It’s not about trends. It’s about what truly matters to me and to many others.”
The singer highlighted the theme of authenticity in his latest work. Atkins believes that in an age dominated by social media and Artificial Intelligence, people yearn for genuine experiences. He expressed that while technology has its place, nothing can replace true authenticity.
His album “True South” has been in development for three decades. Each song narrates a part of his journey, sharing his experiences, beliefs, and the influencers in his life. He clarified, “True South isn’t about geography. It’s about the values that shaped me, the values I’m instilling in my three sons.”
Atkins’ single “The Years Are Short” features moments from his family life, reminding him of the swift passage of time. He reminisced about marking his children’s height and realizing how quickly they grow up.
