Senator Rick Scott Criticizes Senate’s Limited Work Schedule

1 month ago 0

On Monday, in a Fox News op-ed, Senator Rick Scott from Florida raised concerns about the Senate’s work schedule. Scott, known for his conservative stance, argued that the Senate frequently takes excessive breaks, resulting in a shorter workweek.

Scott pointed out that many senators often conclude their schedules by Thursday afternoon, allowing them to head back to their states. He highlighted that the Senate has been in session for just 79 days this year.

This critique questions whether the Senate dedicates sufficient time to its responsibilities by spending limited time in Washington, D.C.
