Spencer Pratt, known for his reality TV role on ‘The Hills,’ has taken aim at Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. He criticized her following California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s endorsement of Bass. Pratt accused them of being ‘alleged criminal partners.’ He also highlighted the limited success of Los Angeles’s homelessness program, which reportedly spent $418 million with minimal impact on reducing street homelessness.
Pratt’s campaign is focused on making Los Angeles a safer place, especially for mothers and children. He stands firm on his faith-driven mission against issues like homelessness and crime. Currently, Pratt’s campaign shows a surge in polls as he goes up against Bass and city council member Nithya Raman.
As the election day approaches, the race remains competitive. With no candidate likely to secure over 50% of the vote, a runoff in November seems probable. Pratt argues against the current administration’s handling of significant city issues, including criticism over the January 2025 wildfires, drug addiction, and rising crime.
Bass, backed by prominent Democrats like Kamala Harris, actively campaigned over the weekend. At one event, she served tacos while opposing Pratt’s past as a reality TV star. Pratt faced critiques not only from Bass but also from challenger Raman, who defended her position amid aggressive campaign ads from Pratt.
Despite various challenges, Pratt has attracted endorsements from reality TV personalities, actors, and musicians. His campaign presents a Republican challenge in a predominantly Democratic city.
