Trump Proposes New Pedestrian Bridge in Washington

4 weeks ago 0

President Donald Trump and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum have announced a new construction project in Washington, aimed at enhancing connectivity between significant locations. They propose building a pedestrian bridge intended to link the National Mall with the Potomac River.

According to plans discussed in the Oval Office, this walkway would run adjacent to the Lincoln Memorial. It would allow pedestrians to traverse two busy roadways safely, providing a streamlined pathway towards the waterfront.

This announcement comes as part of a broader initiative by President Trump to make alterations to the capital’s iconic areas. Notably, this includes recent renovation efforts undertaken on the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool. These projects echo a vision from the early 20th century that aimed to integrate the National Mall more closely with the surrounding waterfront.
