The audio of a 911 call concerning Kyle Busch has been revealed. Obtained by Fox News Digital, it depicts a distressing scene for the late NASCAR driver. The recording, first shared by TMZ, features an unidentified man conveying the seriousness of Busch’s condition to a dispatcher. He reported that Busch had difficulty breathing, felt overheated, and seemed near fainting while coughing up blood. The man described the situation with urgency, stating that Busch was conscious but lying on the bathroom floor.
Busch, aged 41, passed away on Thursday following a brief hospital stay. He reportedly experienced a sudden collapse while in a race simulator the previous Wednesday. After this incident, he was admitted to a medical facility in Charlotte, N.C. The announcement of his untimely death was made by his family along with NASCAR and Richard Childress Racing later on Thursday.
Busch had a prolific career, marked by numerous achievements over his more than twenty-year tenure in NASCAR. Throughout his time, he accumulated records for national series wins, clinched championships at NASCAR’s apex level, and nurtured emerging drivers as a team owner in the Truck Series. His sharp wit and competitive nature endeared him to racing fans across all age groups, birthing the fervent ‘Rowdy Nation’.
Busch was a distinguished two-time Cup Series champion, with the first title won in 2015 and the second in 2019. He began his Cup Series journey in 2004, making 762 career starts and securing 63 victories. Overall, he amassed 234 wins across the three NASCAR national series. He holds the record for the highest number of wins in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with 102 victories and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with 69 triumphs.
His latest achievement was a Truck Series victory at Dover, where he led 147 laps with remarkable prowess. Reflecting on this win, Busch remarked on the uncertainty of when the last victory might be. His unexpected passing marks the second sorrowful event for NASCAR in recent months. Six months prior, former Cup driver Greg Biffle tragically died in a plane crash along with his family.
