A Marine veteran recently faced a harrowing situation in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Jheyco Borda recounts how he was forced to defend himself against a group of teenagers who attempted to carjack him at gunpoint.
“I was fearing for my life,” Borda shared. Surveillance footage captured the intense confrontation. Borda was approached by several teens, one brandishing a firearm. The situation escalated as one of the teens pointed the gun directly at him.
Reacting swiftly, Borda wrestled with the armed suspect, forcing him to the ground. Throughout the altercation, a gunshot was fired, hitting Borda’s truck, but, incredibly, no one was injured.
Borda explained how he managed the ordeal. “I just got prepared and adrenaline kicked in and some training,” he said, attributing his quick thinking and defensive actions to his combat training in the Marine Corps.
Borda wasn’t alone in his defense. His brother intervened, helping to fend off the attackers, as shown in the surveillance video.
The attack involved six teenagers, comprising four males and two females. This disturbing incident echoes a similar crime on Borda’s street two years ago, when a group allegedly stole a vehicle from the same location.
The Prince George’s County Police Department confirmed that two male teenagers have been arrested. They continue to investigate the involvement of the remaining suspects.
