Ms. Rachel’s Debut Album ‘I’m So Happy’ Set for Release

New York—Parents of toddlers should get ready as YouTube sensation and music teacher Ms. Rachel, along with her husband Aron Accurso, are set to release their debut album. Titled ‘I’m So Happy’, this 23-track album will be available on September 25.

Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, shares her passion for music as a bonding tool for families. “Music is a wonderful way for people to bond,” she says, emphasizing how she and her husband have always sung to their children.

Launching their YouTube channel in 2019, Ms. Rachel and Mr. Aron offer educational content through music. “I am a music educator,” Ms. Rachel says, noting the importance of kids experiencing real instruments, like a clarinet in “Icky Sticky Bubble Gum.” But the educational aspect extends beyond music. Songs like “I Could Be Your Friend” encourage social skills development. She emphasizes inclusivity for children with disabilities and autism, aspiring to create a supportive world for all kids.

The album features diverse musical genres. The song “I Love a Rainbow” is a bossa nova piece, while “Old McDonald” has a bluegrass twist. “Music is at the heart of our show,” Aron Accurso adds, expressing the desire for families to enjoy their songs beyond screens.

Production

Co-produced by Aron Accurso and Grammy winner Scott Riesett, ‘I’m So Happy’ includes contributions from 19 vocalists and 42 instrumentalists. Aron Accurso describes expanding and elevating familiar songs with new arrangements. “We wanted to make them sparkle more,” he explains, aiming to inspire “living room dance parties.”

“We love to put on an album and dance around,” Aron says, envisioning families dancing along.

Advocacy

Ms. Rachel is also known for her advocacy work. Using social media, she addresses humanitarian crises, focusing on issues like the situation in Gaza and U.S. immigration detentions. Recently, she spoke on the mysterious death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells in Mississippi, highlighting racial inequality in the investigation.

“I view myself as an advocate for children’s rights,” she shares. Ms. Rachel believes in speaking out against violations and hopes the album draws attention to these causes.
