Rod Stewart Postpones Concerts on Doctor’s Orders for Vocal Rest

2 weeks ago 0

Rod Stewart is postponing more concerts due to his doctor’s advice. His doctor has instructed him to rest his voice so he can recover from vocal issues.

Stewart is rescheduling his June 15 and 16 performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, to September 2 and 3, 2027. This announcement was made by the venue on their social media channels.

“Following examinations at Colorado Voice Clinic this afternoon, Dr. David Opperman has prescribed vocal rest for Rod Stewart,” the post mentions. “Evaluation revealed significant inflammation and strain of the vocal folds, making it impossible for him to safely perform without the risk of further injury and potential long-term damage to his voice.”

The post also states: “Rod is deeply disappointed and sincerely apologizes to his fans for this inconvenience. He looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as he is medically cleared.”

While it is understandable that Stewart cannot perform if he cannot sing, some fans expressed dissatisfaction due to the timing of the announcement, which occurred close to the show time. One fan commented on X, “Why wait an hour before the show? Bartenders and other staff had been called off hours ago? Unacceptable.”

This situation is not unprecedented for Stewart. He previously canceled a show in San Diego on April 12 due to an acute upper respiratory infection causing laryngitis.

Stewart’s next scheduled concert is on June 19 in West Valley City, Utah. For now, that show is proceeding, but if you have tickets, stay informed about any updates. It is hoped that his voice will recover in time, allowing him to return to the stage for performances.
