Marvel Unveils Exciting Cast at Comic-Con

SAN DIEGO (AP) – David Jonsson will play the new Black Panther, the son of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa, as director Ryan Coogler announced to enthusiastic fans at Marvel Studios’ Comic-Con International presentation. Jonsson joined the Oscar-winning Coogler on stage with Letitia Wright and Winston Duke. He expressed gratitude, holding his hand to his chest with a broad smile.

The highly anticipated Black Panther III will premiere in December 2028. Jonsson, known for roles in Industry, The Long Walk, and Alien: Romulus, shared, “Thank you to this family that I have the honor and the blessing to join. I don’t want to say too much, because I want to let the screen do the talking.” Boseman passed away in 2020. Since 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced T’Challa’s son, fans speculated about the new Black Panther.

In other news, Ryan Gosling joins the Marvel universe as Ghost Rider. He reunites with his Star Wars: Starfighter director Shawn Levy for a film set to release in 2028. Gosling expressed his long-standing desire to play the character to the fans and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige. His partner, Eva Mendes, starred in the original 2007 Ghost Rider film with Nicolas Cage. Sony released a sequel in 2012, but the franchise now returns to Marvel, with Ghost Rider yet to appear in the MCU.

Additionally, Feige announced the rerelease of Joe and Anthony Russo’s 2019 film Avengers: Endgame in theaters on Sept. 25. The new cut includes footage linking it to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, debuting on Dec. 18. Fans eagerly awaited inside Comic-Con’s eagerly anticipated panel and enjoyed appearances from Doomsday stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal.
