Jaylen Brown and Stephen A. Smith’s Heated Exchange

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown’s basketball season may have ended, but his ongoing dispute with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has intensified. This weekend, Brown expressed his frustrations during a livestream after Smith advised the NBA guard to “be quiet.” The comments followed Brown’s allegations of NBA referees having an “agenda” against him, especially after the Philadelphia 76ers overcame a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Celtics in their series.

Brown, who took to social media earlier this month, vowed to “be quiet” once Smith retires. “Did he just say I needed to be quiet? Be quiet for who?” Brown questioned on Sunday night. He further criticized Smith, stating, “Man, f— Stephen A. Stephen A, Stephen B, Stephen C. My offer still stands. You want me to be quiet and stop streaming? I want you to be quiet and get off these networks because you’re not using your platform for real journalism. You’re using your platform for clickbait.”

Brown continued to express his desire for more accountability in sports commentary. “Tell this mother—-er to retire because he’s the face of clickbait media,” Brown remarked. “Maybe with his retirement, we can initiate a movement to bring in real integrity and accountability for the opinions shared on-air.”

Brown analyzed a clip where Smith commented on Brown not having teammate Jayson Tatum on his stream. Brown suggested that such remarks contribute to Smith’s reputation as a “clown.”

The Celtics surpassed expectations this season, despite missing Jayson Tatum due to injury. Brown took up the leadership role, playing in 71 games and delivering impressive performances with an average of 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. Brown believes his leadership and the team’s chemistry are key to the Celtics’ achievements. The team finished the season with a 56-26 record, claiming the Atlantic Division title.

Smith had previously pointed out that Brown should “be quiet” unless he sought a trade from the Celtics. Ryan Gaydos serves as a senior editor for Fox News Digital.
