A giraffe named Gracie has gone missing from Cedar Hollow Ranch in Texas. She is known for her large neck, long legs, and striking coat. Efforts are ongoing to locate Gracie after a recent tip did not lead to her recovery, according to the ranch’s manager.
Gracie’s owner is providing a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to her safe return. This announcement came from officials in Real County. Gracie was last spotted on a game camera near Leakey, approximately 100 miles northwest of San Antonio.
Gracie, who is about 3 or 4 years old, has lived at the ranch since May. Cedar Hollow Ranch hosts a variety of animals, including impalas, Nubian ibexes, and Central African antelopes.
According to Vick Jones, the manager of the ranch, Gracie disappeared after eating on a hillside, an area other giraffes at the ranch usually avoid. She then wandered past an 8-foot-tall gate and exited the ranch area.
Jones mentioned that he searched an area 4 miles from the ranch following a tip that included photos. However, the photos were outdated and Gracie was not found in that location.
Jones emphasized that the search efforts will persist until Gracie is found, noting, “Everybody in the whole world seems to be looking for her.”
